Ciara News

Thanks to those of you who expressed concern about Ciara.  I am happy to say that she is recovering from her two bouts with Rachel and feeling no ill effects.  I caught up with her earlier and this is what she had to say:

T3D: Ciara, please can you tell everyone how you are feeling? You took a real pounding there and some people have expressed genuine concern if you're OK.
Ciara: Please don't worry - I'm fine. I don't remember much about the fight but I've seen the pictures, and I am more embarrassed than I am hurt.
T3D: Embarrassed? Why do you say that?
Ciara: Because I know I can do much better than that. I've been made to look stupid. I underestimated Rachel as an opponent. She is tough - but let's see how tough she is when she gets knocked down. Let's see if she gets up and comes back. That's my definition of toughness.
T3D: That sounds like fighting talk! So are you going to face off with Rachel again?
Ciara: Well, not right now. I was knocked out for a few minutes so - as a precaution - I've been told I have to wait a week to ten days before getting clearance to fight. But yes, I want to fight her again. I'm happy not leaving things as they are.
T3D: I heard Rachel saying that she doesn't want or even need to fight you again - that she wants her own stories now.
Ciara: She strikes me as pretty arrogant to say that. Sure, she beat me... but that was as much my own fault for underestimating her and rushing in.
T3D: So, if you meet again, we might see some different tactics from you?
Ciara: Of course! The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result.
T3D: Albert Einstein?
Ciara: That quote has been commonly misattributed to him - he never actually said that.
T3D: One final question: how do you react when people say that you looked 'hot' or 'sexy' when you were knocked out?
Ciara: I've read those comments and... (pause) it's kinda weird, but I don't mind it - whatever floats their boat. Let's see whether they think Rachel looks 'hot' when I knock her out.
T3D: Any last words for your supporters?
Ciara: Thanks, I got your messages and the chocolates, and I won't let you down again. xxx
