Well if you have read Part 11 of The Casket Caper then you know it was Ciara who was both the mysterious black-clad girl in the park, and the person opening the casket. How lucky for Amanda that she has such a BFF! And good thing that she told her where she was going and what she was up to... or things could have ended much worse. So, I thought I would wrap up story by bringing the girls into the studio to celebrate them coming out on top, and to pose for a quick picture which hopefully captures some of the exuberance of their friendship.
This story was my first opportunity to write prose showing Amanda and Ciara interacting. I have been doing pictures of them together for years but the opportunity to write dialogue was a first. I enjoyed it, even though it's hard work - they are hard work - constantly squabbling, and you never quite know who's in charge. They both think it's their story and the other is the supporting role!
It will be Ciara's turn to take centre-stage again later this month when she debuts in her own Choose Your Own Adventure: Ciara Nightingale and The Tomb of Doom. This is a hard core dungeon-exploration quest for the young archaeologist which does contain some quite horrific scenarios crafted by MosbyRedux And unfortunately for Ciara she won't be so practically dressed as she was this time, coming to Amanda's rescue.
